The SMARTBoards are Up!
Mr. Donley called this morning and said that the boards are up. Now all we need are the projectors! We have electricity in the ceiling and we are ready. I can hardly wait. Isn’t it great being part of a new phase in education? Stop by the school to see the boards. They are 77″ from corner to corner. They give the big screen TV effect. Our kids should hit a 10 on the “oh cool” scale! Our computer screens are huge. 
SMARTBoard Update
I stopped by the school the other day and I was pleased to see that the wiring is being installed for the SMARTBoards. It should look tidy when the conduit holds all of the wiring. We have an in-service set up for August 6th at 1:00 p.m. The custodians have removed a couple of bulletin boards and painted the wall so we are ready for a clean installation. All of this is so exciting. We are moving into another chapter of delivering information to our kids.

After the 4th of July means only one thing…..school will be starting before we know it. I am spending much time getting ready to launch www.grotonarea.com. I am very excited about this new venture. In the past, when building web sites for school we have realized that the audience we speak to to so important. GrotonTigers.com has addressed the needs of our elementary school for some time now but GrotonArea.com will be an umbrella for everyone. Parents and students can access information in a whole new way. You will be able to access current school calendars, lunch menus, pricing and even school cancellations. There will be a UShare button for user submitted photos. I’m excited. I hope you will enjoy the site as it is developed.
